Story
Hi Everyone 👋
I wanted to share that in April 2026 I will be participating in the Kokoda Trail Challenge, raising funds for the Little Heroes Foundation.
Little Heroes Foundation supports South Australian children and families facing serious illness, providing practical and financial assistance during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Taking on the Kokoda Trail will be a significant physical and mental challenge, and I am proud to be doing this while representing everyone at Happy Haven OSHC. This challenge reflects our shared Values. Our Community Mindedness in supporting families beyond our services, our commitment to Trust and Respect through advocacy and care for those facing hardship, and our Resilience in stepping forward when something is difficult but important.
I would love your support in helping to fundraise where you can, whether that is through donating, sharing the fundraising page, or simply helping spread the word. Every contribution, big or small, will help make a meaningful difference for children and families in our community.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. I will share updates as the challenge approaches.
Fran
Little Heroes Foundation Incorporated
In 29 years of operation, Little Heroes Foundation has raised close to $40 million - the majority going towards purchasing lifesaving equipment at Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital and providing daily support to families through the Little Heroes Care Program. Little Heroes is also pleased to announce a new partnership with the Childhood Dementia Initiative. There are almost 90 deaths each year from this illness, yet little is known about the 70 different variants of this condition. The Foundation is currently running the campaign ‘Raise it for Renee’, supporting a South Australian mum with all three of her children experiencing the devastating impacts of terminal childhood dementia. Little Heroes has committed $50,000 to support Renee and families like hers. In conjunction with this campaign we are also funding a PhD student in Professor Kim Hemsley's team at Flinders University to assist them with finding potential treatments and cures for childhood dementia. Our partnership with Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation continues to grow through our Big Talks for Little People campaign, along with a new commitment towards an Eating Disorder Facility to be built here in South Australia. For more information on our organisation, please visit https://www.littleheroesfoundation.com.au/ As Little Heroes Foundation receives no government funding, the difference that we make to the lives of seriously ill children is not possible without the continued support of people just like you. Fundraising is such an important area for all charities, and thanks to Go Fundraise, it is easy to fundraise for Little Heroes Foundation. Simply click 'Start Fundraising' and follow the prompts to set up your page and get started!
